Week #5 - del.icio.us - Social Bookmarking Tool

Del.icio.us is a great tool for saving bookmarks which can then be accessed from any computer with any browser anywhere in the world. I can see it being useful for sharing bookmarks with friends and colleagues as well as for tracking areas of interest and networking with other users. I like that one can easily discover web pages of interesting content and that the most popular bookmarks for any given tag can be seen. A good feature is that the user can choose to have their bookmarks made public (the default) or they can set them as private. I think del.icio.us is a pretty good tool!

Week #4 - Flickr Photo Sharing

Flickr is great for storing, sorting, seeking and sharing photos online. I like the fact that one can share photos with the entire Flickr community, or securely and privately share them with Flickr users who are friends and family only.

Week #3 - WIKIS

Wikis are a great aid when working on group projects. They offer a one stop place to edit and share information. I enjoyed this assignment and look forward to the next one!

I used to make these cookies at Christmas time using a similar recipe. I'll be testing this recipe out in the near future!

Week #2 - RSS Feeds

I enjoyed this assignment. Although I spent more time than anticipated browsing through various Feeds, I have to admit that Feeds make things easier and less time consuming. All of your favourite sites are managed in one place and are organized in an order chosen by the user. The information you want is delivered to you in a timely manner, keeping you up-to-date on all your interests.

However, the downside to subscribing to RSS Feeds is that there is so much information available out there that one can get caught up in it all and subscribe to so many Feeds that it defeats the purpose. To combat this, the trick is to train yourself to be diligently selective in your choices...now, if I could only heed my own words...

BRRR, it's cold out there!

Just in case you didn't notice...here's a friendly reminder...
My boy's Jackson & Tyson aren't complaining. They would stay out all day if they could!

Beginner Blogger

I can finally say that I have a blog out there! Nothing special, but it's a start. Pretty cool.

Looking forward to learning more new and interesting tools in the weeks to come.
